World Cup 2006

2006 could well be the year that Brazilian football once again demonstrates its global domination. As on June the 9th the 18th World Cup will begin: The Seleçao, holders of the title, go into the tournament as favorites to retain the trophy. The tournament has the same format as the past two times: 32 teams are divided into 8 groups (Brazil will be in group F with Croatia, Australia and Japan); the top 2 of each group qualify for the last eight where the matches become knockout games. The final takes place on the 9th of July…. Lets hope the Seleçao make it 6 times champions!
