47,052 fans went to Seattle's Qwest Field on Saturday to see Brazil's 3-2 victory over Canada.
In a close game it was Robinho who spared Brazil the embarrassment of making it three games without a victory over Canada when he pounced on Julian de Guzman's failed back pass to hit the winner in the 63rd minute after rounding Pat Onstad in goal.
Werder Bremen's Diego scored on an assist from Robinho only four minutes into the game, and the win seemed certain.
However Canada equalized when former UC Santa Barbara forward Rob Friend in the 10th minute and almost went ahead a quarter of an hour later but Issey Nakajima-Farran missed a breakaway.
Luis Fabiano put Brazil ahead just before halftime, but de Guzman tied the score 10 minutes into the second half
The previous two Brazil-Canada meetings in 1994 and 2001 ended in draws.
"The players got together on the eve of the game after a long season [in Europe] and a tiring journey and it was a heavy field," Brazil coach Dunga said. "The team never dropped their heads, we kept going forward looking for the result ... we put together some good moves and they kept 11 players behind the ball all the time. There are always fewer problems when we win."
Brazil's next friendly is against Venezuela in Foxboro, Mass., on Friday.
