Carlos Alberto To Paysandu

The former Seleção captain and 1970 world cup winnner, Carlos Alberto Torrès, has just been appointed as coach of Paysandu.

He replaces Gilson Kleina who has been sacked after bad results at the club which is currently last in the Brazilian League.

Carlos Alberto started to coach at Flamengo in 1983, then other Brazilian teams before trying the adventure abroad: in the United States, Nigeria, Egypt and Azerbaidjan where he was selector of the national team.

He will start with Paysandu at home on Tuesday October 11th against Coritiba for the 31st round of the championship. He appointment hopes to give a new impetus to the club.
