The Portuguese club have recruited Maritimo Funchal's forward Gustavo Manduca. The 25-year player has signed a contract until 2010.

"Benfica, it is the dream of any player. For me, it even was an objective", confided the player.

Moreover, Benfica are trying to recruit Vitoria Setubal's goalkeeper Marcelo Moretto de Souza. The goalkeeper has also been approached by FC Porto, but Moretto declared to prefer the champion of Portugal in title.
