Goiás remained imperial in this beginning of the Copa Libertadores. Against Bolivian club "The Strongest", Goiás won two nil from the first half thanks to Nonato at the 16' minute and Romerito at the 33' minute. Mario Jardel didn't play whereas Vampeta played for the first time treading field at the 69th minute.
