Corinthians drew with Palmeiras 1-1 in the Sao Paulo state championship on Sunday, but the game will be remembered for a disallowed goal that started fighting at the Morumbi stadium.

Palmeiras had to beat Corinthians to stay close to leader Santos (who beat Juventus 2-1 on Saturday). But it was Corinthians who went ahead in the eighth minute from Nilmar. Palmeiras eventually equalized in the 27th through striker Washington.

Then the match was stop after referee Wellington Abade disallowed a Carlos Tevez goal that looked to be good. It appeared that the referee initially allowed the goal, but reversed his decision just before the match was about to restart.

The lines man told the referee that Tevez fouled a defender, pushing him off while trying to get to the ball.

In Rio, Americano and Madureira are in the final of the Rio Cup.
