Flamengo stride along to the quarter finals of the Brazil Cup. The Carioca club crushed Guarani 5-1. The favourite to play against Fla in the quarter final is Fortaleza which won away against Atlético-MG two nil. Fortaleza will have to confirm this success on April 19th at "Castelão".
Surprising Ipatinga continue their good route winning 3-1 against Nautico, while Santos won't have an easy trip against Brasilia with only one goal ahead of Brasiliense taken at Vila Belmiro (2-1).
In the surprised duel, Volta Redonda which had eliminated Atlético-PR won 1-0 against 15 de Novembre (which had eliminated Grêmio). As for Vasco da Gama, they won away 2-1 against Criciuma.
At Salvador de Bahia, Vitoria beat Cruzeiro 2-1 while Fluminense drew 2-2 with Vila Nova confirming the good behaviour of the Carioca clubs in this Brazil Cup 2006.
