Brasileirão: Fluminense in the lead

Fluminense took the first place in the Brazilian League after the second round thanks to its victory at home against Goias, one nil. Petkovic scored the goal giving them victory and allowed Flu to win its second match of the season.

Behind, several teams take up the second place with four points:
Figueirense realized an offensive dazzling performance against Palmeiras winning 6-1. The Verdão took three goals from the first quarter of an hour but they reacted by Washington at the 19' minute. Schwenck and Soares scored a brace during this match.

Santos won at home against Atlético-PR two nil thanks to De Nigris and Reinaldo.

Vasco da Gama made a good deal beating Ponte Preta, 2-1 thanks to a brace from Morais while Internacional won at home against Santa Cruz, one nil.

Lastly, Botafogo drew away with Parana, 0-0 whereas Flamengo and Corinthians won for the first time against respectively Juventude (3-1) with goals of Renato, Diego Silva and Léo Moura and São Caetano, three nil, with as scorers Carlos Tevez, Roger and Ricardinho.
