Fluminense: 5th change of coach of the season

Josué Texeira's second acting passage at the head of Fluminense will have lasted less longer than the first from mid March to mid April.

In spite of a good reaction (victory 3-2 against Cruzeiro), the results of the club fell again in moroseness with a defeat at home against Corinthians, a draw at home against Santa Cruz and a heavily defeat away against Palmeiras 3-0 at the time of the last round.

The club decided to recruit Antônio Lopes who has just left Goias. This coach was champion of Brazil and winner of the Copa Libertadores with Juninho Pernambucano's Vasco da Gama. He also managed Corinthians toward the title in 2005 from last September.
