Round 29: The Results

This weekend saw São Paulo continue their march to the championship title and Corinthians continue their slide towards the second division.

While the Timão weathered a three nil drubbing away from home to Flamengo the Tricolor walked to an easy victory at Morumbi on Saturday, thrashing Juventude five nil.

Three goals away from home were not enough to secure victory for Santos, as Botagofogo knocked home four meaning the Peixe slide into fifth place. A single goal against Goias was enough to see Paraná move into the top four and would mean automatic qualification to the much coveted Copa Libertadores should they remain there until the end of the season.

There were two draws over weekend with Sunday’s Palmeiras - Atlético fixture ending two a piece, and both Cruzeiro and Fortaleza failing to score on Saturday. Full results follow.
