Real Madrid has lost its appeal against Ronaldo's one-game suspension, ruling the Brazil striker out of this weekend's match against FC Barcelona.

The appeals committee said it wouldn't withdraw the yellow card Ronaldo received for an 82nd-minute foul during his team's 1-0 defeat at Getafe last weekend. Eight minutes later, Ronaldo was sent off for the first time in the Spanish league after receiving a second caution for making a remark to the referee.
