Rumours are mounting in Italy over the future of Inter Milan star Adriano, with the player now being linked to both Barcelona and Flamengo.

The struggling striker is set to arrive in Rio next weekend after Inter bosses granted the 24 year-old a two week break. He is reportedly suffering from depression and has been granted leave for 'psychological recuperation'.

Flamengo have already expressed their interest in the Imperador with club Vice-President Kléber Leite admitting, "The prospect interests us a great deal, I have approached representatives of Inter Milan to discuss all possibilities. In two days we will have a response and we will know what will happen." If the deal goes through it is likely to see Adriano loaned to the rubro-negro until July 2007, when he would return to Italy

A more likely move however would be to the reigning European champions Barcelona where he would make an ideal replacement for the injured Eto'o, Barça sources have revealed that after Ronaldinho, Adriano and Eto'o would form the 'dream attack' for the Catalan club.

Adriano has not scored for his club since March yet Inter are hoping he will return rejuvenated from his rest in Brazil and a return to form could secure his future at the Italian side.
