Rodrigues bows to Real Madrid pressure

Brazil under-20 Coach Nelson Rodrigues has appeased the Merengues by agreeing to cut Marcelo following his move to Madrid. His replacement will be Luis Adriano, the Internacional striker who came out of Pato’s shadow at the CWC in Japan.

Marcelo had been hoping to avoid the draft which has seen his hitherto habitual team-mates training since the 11th of December at Campo Grande, capital of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul, close to the border with Paraguay.
