Rogerio Ceni scored his 70th career goal with a penalty kick as Sao Paulo beat Palmeiras 3-1 at Morumbi stadium.
Striker Borges put Sao Paulo ahead in the fifth minute, and World Cup veteran Edmundo equalized for Palmeiras in the 29th, also with a penalty kick. Midfielder Richarlyson sealed the win for Sao Paulo with a long-range shot in the 67th.
The result secured Sao Paulo a spot in the semi-final round, and dropped Palmeiras from the group of four clubs that will advance.
