Premier league team Manchester City have reportedly agreed a £7.4million deal for Brazilian midfielder Elano.
According to the British newspaper the Daily Star, the 26-year-old is due to complete the move from Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday after holding talks with Eastlands boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.
If the deal goes through, as expected, speculation linking City with former star Shaun Wright-Phillips or Newcastle Kieron Dyer is sure to die down.
Having previously spent £8.8m on Rolando Bianchi and £4.7m on Atletico Madrid midfielder Martin Petrov, Eriksson will be taking his summer spending past the £20m mark and will now scout around for bargain buys as the new season approaches.
