Resume.

Brazil over came an awkward Ghana 3-0 to book their place in the last eight of the World Cup.

Ronaldo became the highest scorer in World Cup finals history the 29-year-old took just five minutes to better Gerd Muller's tally of 14, connecting to Kaka's through ball and rounding the goal keeper to slot home.

But in a hard fought first half Brazil didnt have it all their own way, Ghana had there far share of chances but Dida performed well in goal and managed to keep his 3rd clean sheet of the finals.

With Robinho injured Adriano returned to the starting line up and it was the Inter Milan ace who would add Brazil's second in the 45th minute, tapping in a cross from Cafu after a sweeping end-to-end move.

The second half saw Ghana throw everything forward to get a goal. Coming close on several occasions but for some fine goal keeping. In the end Brazil completed the victory with a well taken flick from Ze Roberto after Ricardinho hit a simple chip over Ghana's centre-backs which Ze Roberto flicked past Richard Kingson before tapping into the net.

In the end the result flattered Brazil but with their 4th victory in these finals a mouth watering quarter final against either Spain or France awaits.
