Brazil concluded their series of pre-World Cup frinedlies this afternoon with a convincing 4-0 victory over New Zealand in Geneva. Questions regarding Ronaldo’s fitness may have been put to rest somewhat as he put away Brazil’s first shortly before half-time. The selecãos superiority became more evident after the break as Inter’s Adriano hit home in the 51st minute and goals from AC Milan’s Kaka and Juninho Pernambucano of Lyon ensured a comfortable win in what was Brazil’s only international World Cup warm-up.
Carlos Alberto Parreira was quick to praise the team but had words of warning too. He insisted Brazil must do better in the World Cup and outlined co-ordination up front and getting the ball out of defence as areas of particular concern.
Brazil’s next game, and first of the World Cup is against Croatia on July 9th at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
